Spoonies Unite
Intentional Attitude Shifts for the Win

How many times has this happened to you? You’re having a good day, you’re enjoying your life and then BAM shit starts to hit the fan.
Maybe it was running into a bazillion stop lights AND construction AND a funeral procession on your way to work which made you late and now your boss is yelling at you for something you had no control over.
Maybe it’s that your stomach is acting up and making you run to the bathroom 20 times in an hour and you have no idea if it was the green smoothie you had for breakfast or the midnight snack of chocolate cake from the night before.
Maybe it’s having to cancel on your friends even though you really really wanna go to the concert tonight but you have a splitting migraine and don’t want to vomit all over everyone.
You can’t always control what happens in your life, but you can control your reactions to what happens.
Now don’t get me wrong, all of these situations (and all the others that can pop up in your life) are shitty and you’d rather not have to deal with them. I get that. All I’m saying is that you have the power to choose how you react to all of those annoying and frustrated situations. You can either choose to let them piss you off and make you sad and hopeless for the future, or you can decide to make the best of it, deal with the situation you’re in and shrug off whatever happens.
Give yourself a chance to be angry, sad, frustrated and any other feelings that come up, and then LET THEM GO. They have served their purpose, you felt what you needed to feel, now pick a feeling that you honestly want to feel.
All it takes is a little, intentional attitude shift.
